|
17/05/07 |
Avocent Corporation announced on May 15 a key customer partnership with Gas Station TV (GSTV) to provide programming through video monitors and speakers integrated into gas station pumps at leading gas retailers. Using Avocent’s wireless HD technology for enhanced video and audio at the gas pump allows GSTV to offer superior digital signage to consumers when refueling,” said David Leider, CEO of GSTV. “We’re excited to be the first and only gas station television network to use Avocent’s Emerge™ MPX 1000 HD multipoint extender solution. This effort combines GSTV’s media expertise and Avocent’s digital signage technology for a unique solution to meet the growing demand for highly tailored, personalized marketing to consumers at the gas pump.” Avocent’s wireless HD distribution technology eliminates, according to Avocent, the need to install costly additional wiring to deliver news and advertising content to each gas pump display. GSTV brings extensive media expertise to the digital signage industry with entertaining and engaging programming for the mobile consumer. The system will be based on Avocent’s Emerge MPX1000 media distribution system, that is able to deliver a synchronized stream of high-definition computer graphics or video and associated audio from one source to as many as eight display devices. Manageability is provided through an onboard web interface and device control is accommodated through extension of serial, IR and HDMI control data. The Emerge MPX1000 extender solution supports VGA and HDMI/DVI digital video and audio signals. “We are pleased to work with GSTV and their use of the Emerge MPX1000 HD Multipoint Extender,” said Mitch Friend, senior vice president and general manager of Avocent. “This relationship demonstrates Avocent’s continued leadership in offering wireless connectivity products to those companies who need ‘best in class’ digital signage to reach their customers.” |
