EXT-HDMI1.3-244 Switch between 2 HDMI 1.3 sources to 4 HDMI displays

2 Sources + 4 Displays + HDMI 1.3 Connectivity = Greater Integration Options

Gefen's 2x4 Switcher for HDMI 1.3 is equipped with two HDMI inputs and four HDMI outputs. Two inputs accommodate the simultaneous connection of up to two high definition video sources, such as satellite systems and Blu-Ray players. Four outputs send the high definition audio/video signals to up to four HDTV displays. Switching is done via the included IR remote.

Fully HDCP Compliant
HDCP (high bandwidth digital content protection) is a standard encoded into the video signal to prevent it from being pirated. If a source device is HDCP coded and is connected to a display or projector without the proper decoding mechanism, the picture is relegated to "snow" or in some cases, very low (480P) resolutions of the images. In order to see high resolution digital video with HDCP compliance, both the source, the display and anything in between must be equipped with HDMI connections that can enable HDCP decoding, such as the 2x4 Switcher for HDMI 1.3.

Connect all your sources to the 2x4 Switcher for HDMI 1.3 inputs. Then connect up to four displays on the output ports. Once the sources, the switcher and the displays are powered and connected, you then select which source you want to view using the IR remote.

EXT-DVI-144 Distribute one DVI source to two displays

Gefen's DVI Splitter is a stackable distribution hub that sends the same DVI graphics source to two or more DVI digital displays (flat panels or projectors). It is a flexible solution that accommodates multiple digital video displays, and when multiple DVI Splitters are connected together, they can be used to create a 1:4 or a 1:6 distribution (one DVI input / multiple DVI display outputs). The configuration of stacking multiple units must be done by Gefen professionals.

The DVI Splitter is connected with a DVI (male to male) cable from the DVI graphic source to the DVI Splitter input. There are two DVI outputs in each module. DVI output one is the primary connection and is used for the main display. DVI output two follows the main display. The DVI Splitter is using a unique DVI Bus? technology to connect multiple splitters without sacrificing a DVI output connection.

Note:
Any connected display that cannot show the same video resolution(s) as the Primary Display connected to Output #1 may fail to show a picture. Secondary displays follow the Primary by sharing the resolution and capability information (EDID) obtained from the Primary Display.

The DVI Splitter will only output a DVI-D (DVI digital) signal. If you're using a DVI-I cable, it will ONLY pass the digital signal. Using a DVI-I to VGA adapter off of any output will not pass an analog signal. A DVI-D to VGA Conversion Box is required to convert to an analog signal.

Two DVI Inputs, Eight DVI Outputs = Ideal for Presentation Venues

The 2:8 DVI Distribution Amplifier is an innovative solution for anyone with more complex video viewing requirements such as studios and presentation venues. It accommodates various system scenarios. Up to two video sources (either DVI-equipped computer, DVD player or satellite set top box) are connected to the distribution amplifier on one side. On the other side, eight video outputs are available to be used in part or in full. All displays are driven by one of two sources; each source drives eight displays at one time. Sources are switched via the RMT-2 remote control. The 2:8 DVI Distribution Amplifier is also equipped with an auto sensing feature that automatically switches to whatever source is active, should one of the sources drop out.

Fully HDCP Compliant

For home theater applications, the unit is HDCP (high bandwidth digital content protection) compliant, making it compatible with all HDTV content and displays. HDCP is a standard data encryption scheme encoded into the DVI signal to prevent videos from being copied. HDCP was adopted in 2004 by the entertainment industry. If an HDCP-encoded video source is connected to a HDTV display without the proper HDCP decoding mechanism, the picture is relegated to "snow" or a very low (480P) resolution. To avoid this situation the video source, the display and any device in between must be equipped with HDCP "software key" decoding devices.

You just connect one or two DVI graphics sources to the 2:8 DVI DA's two inputs using the supplied DVI cables. Then you connect up to eight DVI displays to the eight DVI outputs on each unit. Power-cycle all connected equipment and you should see crystal-clear duplication of your source video on all output displays.

Note:
All connected displays that cannot show the same video resolution(s) as the Primary Display connected to Output #1 may fail to show a picture. Secondary displays follow the Primary display by sharing the resolution and capability information (EDID) obtained from the Primary Display

EXT-HDMI-EDIDP Disconnect and reconnect HDMI and stay in sync

Computers and HDTV video source devices can sometimes lose the EDID -- basically the electronic identification of a display which lists its possible resolutions and frequencies. When displays are switched away or disconnected and then reconnected, the EDID can be lost and the computer or HD video source device can lose the ability to display the image properly.

The Gefen HDMI Detective Plus allows you to switch or relocate HDTV or Computer video displays while "tricking" the source devices into continuously reading the display information -- maintaining smooth video operations throughout the process.

You simply program the HDMI Detective Plus for the display that you will use, by performing a programming step while having the device connected to the display and a power adapter. Next, you put it into place on the video output of your video source and restart your equipment. When all sources and displays are powered on, seamless functioning of video source and display equipment will commence.

External buttons make EDID programming and settings operations a breeze -- formerly, some operations could require opening the unit.

Note:

This device is HDCP compliant.

EXT-DVI-EDIDN DVI Detective N

Computers can sometimes lose the EDID -- basically the electronic identification of a display which lists its possible resolutions and frequencies. When displays are switched away or disconnected and then reconnected, the EDID can be lost and the computer can lose the ability to display the image properly.

The DVI Detective solves this problem by memorizing the EDID information. It does this by being programmed in a simple process. Once the DVI Detective has the display's EDID memorized, it can be placed over the output of the computer's video port, where it fools the computer into thinking that a display is present, even when the display is switched away to another computer.

After a simple initial programming step involving only the monitor and the DVI Detective, you simply connect the video source on one side of the DVI Detective and the extension module or switcher on the other side.

External buttons and no power after programming make EDID programming and settings operations a breeze.

EXT-DVI-EDIDP DVI Detective Plus

Computers and HDTV video source devices can sometimes lose the EDID -- basically the electronic identification of a display which lists its possible resolutions and frequencies. When displays are switched away or disconnected and then reconnected, the EDID can be lost and the computer or HD video source device can lose the ability to display the image properly.

The Gefen DVI Detective Plus allows you to switch or relocate HDTV or Computer video displays while "tricking" the source devices into continuously reading the display information -- maintaining smooth video operations throughout the process.

Prior to first use, the DVI Detective is connected to the Display where it stores the Display's EDID while under power. The power is then removed from the DVI Detective which is placed to the output of your video source. The stored EDID is permanently saved.

Note:

The DVI Detective Plus includes 4 built-in manually-selectable generic EDIDs (display identities) for several standard home theater setups with multi-channel audio and standard HDTV resolutions. This functionality is vital when equipment reaches a state of indeterminite function and will not respond to signals or controls properly, and a certain resolution size with specific audio must be forced upon all connected equipment.
